"There's nothing quite like...
...getting your enemy's propoganda served up unfiltered in a major American daily newspaper."
Read the whole thing. It's short.

Update: more unfiltered propaganda, this time from domestic enemies.... [update2] posing as novice protesters.

The LGF Prayer
Before you post, remember the LGF prayer:
Lord, grant me the serenity to ignore the trolls,
the courage to debate with honest opponents,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Amen.

North Korea's Libya Moment?
North Korea has agreed to give up its nuclear program. Folks (like Austin Bay) are skeptical, as I am.
But maybe North Korea's Kim Jong Il is having a Moammar Gadhafi moment. Remember? Less than a week after our capturing Saddam, Gadhafi was renouncing their WMD programs. Coincidence? No way. Gadhafi pictured himself in Saddam's shoes.
I wonder if the thought of freeing up 50,000 U.S. troops made a bigger difference than any negotiations.
And China's tug on North Korea's leash could only have helped.

Katrina -- the fog begins to clear
Rightwing Nuthouse, who posted the most comprehensive time-line on Hurricane Katrina's aftermath, now goes back to analyze the volume of data. (Here's his blog's Katrina category, and it's a good long read.)
Powerline weighs in on Katrina-related negligence and hysteria.
Update: The Red Cross and Salvation Army were both ready to enter New Orleans immediately [or perhaps by Thursday, per FactCheck, below], but were blocked by state officials. (Red Cross FAQ acknowledges.) Gov. Blanco makes a strange remark.
Update 2 [9/17]:
- FactCheck.org's time-line.
- Bush accepts responsibility for lack of coordination, effectiveness
- Governor Blanco accepts responsiblity, too.
- Thoughts on racial inequality exposed by the hurricane.
- State officials were awaiting trial for graft when Katrina hit
10/4 Update: Search for bodies ends. Death toll, 972 across Mississippi and Louisiana.

Re: Definitive Link Between al Qaeda in Iraq and London Bombings
Powerline's John Hinderaker writes...
To my recollection, this is the first clear evidence of al Qaeda using Iraq as a base for attacks against the West since the beginning of the war in 2003.
But the story itself doesn't establish Iraq as a base, only that the same al Qaida figures involved in planning the London bombings are also active in Iraq. That's an important difference. The story implies that Syria is just such a base.

Where I've been
I haven't blogged myself much because I've been poking around the left side of the blogosphere.
This guy (as pretty much the entire left side) blames Bush for Katrina, but can't seem to distinguish an anonymous assertion from a verifiable fact. (Michelle Malkin does front-line debunking, with many more to follow once the fog of the catastrophe clears.)
Same guy bashes Bush for his World War II references, but, well, gets it wrong. A guy with Tourette's syndrome goes off on me. I respond below.

Help. Give.
Hugh Hewitt: "All I and a thousand other bloggers are asking you to do is give money." To the hurricane relief efforts.
Instapundit gives us the most options ever in helping the people of Louisiana get back on their feet.
Don't be overwhelmed. Do give.
Update: Be wary, too. False charities scammed many after 9/11, and it's bound to be the same today.
